What is TM?

An effortless technique, taught one-to-one for over 60 years

Transcendental Meditation is a simple mental technique practised sitting comfortably with the eyes closed. During TM, the mind settles inward beyond thought to experience the source of thought — a state of restful alertness. The body gains deep rest while the mind remains wide awake.

  • EffortlessNo concentration, no controlling the mind, no monitoring of thoughts.
  • Not a religion or philosophyPeople of every faith and background practise TM. No change in belief or lifestyle is required.
  • Evidence-basedHundreds of published research studies on stress, blood pressure, anxiety, and brain function.
  • Learned from a certified teacherTM is taught through personal instruction, so the practice is correct and effortless from day one.

Why people learn TM

Deep rest for the body. Clarity for the mind.

Research published in leading medical and scientific journals has documented a wide range of benefits from regular TM practice.

Less stress & anxiety

TM produces a state of deep physiological rest, allowing the body to dissolve accumulated stress and fatigue naturally.

Better sleep

Many practitioners report falling asleep more easily and waking more refreshed as the nervous system settles.

Heart health

Studies have found reductions in high blood pressure — the American Heart Association has recognised research on TM and hypertension.

Clearer thinking

EEG research shows increased brainwave coherence during TM, associated with improved focus, memory, and decision-making.

More energy

The deep rest of TM is a powerful antidote to fatigue — practitioners often describe more dynamism and creativity in daily activity.

Inner calm & happiness

With regular practice, calmness and stability grow in daily life — not only during meditation.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is TM difficult to learn?

No. TM is completely effortless — that is what makes it different. Anyone can learn, regardless of age, education, or whether you believe you "can't stop thinking." Thoughts are not a problem in TM.

Is TM a religion?

No. TM is a technique, not a faith, philosophy, or lifestyle. It is practised by people of all religions and none, and requires no change in belief.

Which session should I choose?

Whichever suits your week — the Saturday morning (10:00) and Wednesday evening (19:00) sessions cover the same content. If your plans change, you are welcome at the other session; the same Zoom link works for both.

Is the webinar really free?

Yes — the introductory webinar is completely free with no obligation. The TM course itself has a fee, which the instructor will explain during the webinar along with available options.

What do I need to join?

Just a phone, tablet, or computer with an internet connection. After registering, you will see the Zoom joining details instantly and receive them by email. You can join with your camera off if you prefer.
